Node Root Vol - Importance of disk speed/spindle count

Are there any situations where it is advantageous to place the node root vol on SAS disks versus SATA disks?

I understand the requirement to isolate node root vol to its own aggr so that there is not any I/O contention and so that cluster database can sync before data vol givebacks but I'm not knowledgeable enough about the node root vol role in other operations  and the corresponding I/O that might be generated.

My setup will look something like this:

Cluster-Mode Ontap 8.2

FAS 3220 (2 Node)

2 Shelves of 24 x 600GB 15k SAS

12 x 100GB SSD

Thanks in advance,
