I have a NetApp FAS 2020 running ONTAP 220.127.116.11 I have a server which has an ISCSI attached LUN (Using SnapDrive 6.3) on drive E:\ which hosts a bunch of file shares for my network.
I use a vbs file which creates my snapshots by running the SnapDrive CLI "sdcli.exe snap create -s SNAPShotName -D E" where SNAPShotName is calculated by time and date.
The snapshots are created and appear in SnapDrive. I can use SnapDrive to connect to or restore from them.
My question is how can I make these snapshots appear in the "Previous Versions" tab in windows so my users can get access to their old versions.
My clients are on Windows 7 x64 and Windows Server 2008R2 running Remote Desktop with Citrix XenApp 6.5
Hi Darren Stevens,
Have a look at these links , you may find a solution
Thanks for the links. I wasn't clear in my original post I can setup Previous Versions using the Windows built in tools on the server and it works but it isn't integrated with the snapshots created by the SAN using SnapDrive. I might have to use this method and stop taking the SnapDrive ones but I am not sure which method is best use of the space on the SAN as we haven't got a lot to play with.
