b/s metric in stats show volume output:  bits or bytes?

Hello,

Can somebody tell me if the b/s metric in the stats show volume:*:read_data ouptut is in units of bits or bytes?

The read_data metric in the Performance Advisor GUI says it is in units of Bytes per second.   I cant find any such explanation for the stats show volume:*:read_data command.

Esentially trying to determine if I am doing 499047366 bits per second or bytes per second of read_data.

Here is an example:

stats show -i 1 -n 600  volume:testvolume1:read_data
