NetApp Application Questions - Limitations on Users, Possibility of DFS?

Currently Being Moderated

Hi everyone,

Im new with NetApp system. Currently have FAS3140 machine in my building. And Im looking to upgrade and getting new system, one that fits this ever growing organization. but before I do so, I would like to hear your suggestions, and at the same time, to answer my queries.

1. For the current FAS3140, what is the estimate limit of simultaneous user before the system slows down ? Would 500 users be enough to slow down the system, as I am getting complaint from users that their application (data retrieval) is slow.

2. I only know that FailOver is possible with NetApp, but in FailOver mode, secondary server is not used, not until primary server goes down.  Now, I want to know if NetApp has a DFS equivalent, or supports DFS, because I would like to have 1) both servers working together simultaneously to share the load, and 2) both servers to backup each other.

Thank you in advance!
