I've been asked by a customer (one of the biggest life insurances in Switzerland) who is very interested in testing the MML for their deployment if we support multiple ORA instances per volume to be backed up with the same snapshot? We had to implement that shared concept because of #max volume constraints. It would be great if the MML could quiesce all DB's running on the same volume and perform one common Snapshot. I guess having the same retention/snapshot schedule for all DB's in the same volume would be a viable solution for the customer. A volume only contains DB's from a single ORA Server.
Do we have that kind of support or plans to enhance the MML? What would be the reasons/implications for not having it?
