This may sound like a basic question, but I cannot find a definitive answer from the NetApp documentation or Google.
I have a six host Hyper-V cluster (2008 R2 Server core) using CSVs. I am looking to install SnapManager for Hyper-V. How many LUNs do I need to provision (through SnapDrive) and can they all reside in the same Volume?
From the docs, I can see you create one shared LUN and publish this to all hosts, which ends up as a resource in failover clustering. My question is, do I need a separate dedicated LUN for each host in addition to this for VMs which may reside outside of the failover cluster? (therfore making a total of 7 LUNs for SMHV). And if so, can all 7 LUNs reside in the same volume, or do I have to create 7 volumes as well?
When using the SMHV management tools (on my own workstation), so I add the individual cluster hosts, or the cluster name, or both?
