Many thanks for responding & explaining that holiday was to be blamed for spam flooding.
Still, this is the bit I can't get my head around:
Links in the status updates seem to be the main vehicle for posting spam on Communities - why are you insisting it is not possible to block them in general?
Can you show me a single genuine status update with link, which is not spam?
Unfortunately, (much to my dismay) Jive does not allow for blocking URLs or keywords in status updates. We would have to disable status updates entirely and honestly, the spammers will just find another place to post if we did that. We are working on more preventive measures, but the login system is used by several different applications.

Martin Fisher Thanks. We tried to clean up the spam as quickly as we could over the holiday.
The site is being overrun right now with SPAM...using the "DOCUMENT" type post...so status links aren't the only place that can be exploited... I'll be logging off now... removed several of the posts with spam reports but can't keep up with the 10s and 100s posting on the site.
I did also notice that when replying via email to a post...it shows in the post, but on the recent activity feed that reply does not show up. When replying on the site directly it works fine. It used to update the same when replying via email but has broken somewhere.
Site is again getting flood with this spam posts, its just getting more annoying. Please remove it.

Ravi Paladugu Thanks for your comment. I can assure you we take the spamming very seriously and are doing the best we can to mitigate and clean-up as quickly as we can, which includes off hours monitoring. However, it is a complicated issue to resolve. I apologize for the inconvenience it causes.
