FlexPod is hot, and NetApp and Cisco just announced a new FlexPod that's sure to get the attention of data centers deploying shared infrastructure and transitioning to cloud. The new entry-level FlexPod is a scaled-down architecture to address tight IT budgets and the needs of smaller data centers, or to fill gaps in larger enterprises at satellite offices or for proof of concept. Otherwise, this new FlexPod uses the same architecture, same technology and same management as its bigger brothers.
A recent Tech OnTap article, explains how we sized the new FlexPod, details the building blocks used, and describes how the new design scales both up and out. You can check out the article at https://communities.netapp.com/docs/DOC-16022.
What do you think about the entry-level FlexPod? Is it sized right to meet your needs? Will FlexPod help you get to cloud?
