End-to-End Storage Management for VMware Infrastructures

Currently Being Moderated

Accomplishing storage tasks in a VMware environment can be confusing. It’s not always clear whose responsibility a given task even is; sometimes getting a job done can end up wasting the time of both the VMware admin and the storage admin. In a recent Tech OnTap article, I described a new version of the NetApp Virtual Storage Console that includes all the capabilities a VMware admin needs to manage NetApp storage in vCenter.  Once a VMware admin is granted the appropriate permissions, he or she can easily perform all necessary management tasks (within specified limits) in a familiar management environment without involving the storage admin further.

You can check out the article at http://communities.netapp.com/docs/DOC-6510?REF_SOURCE=tot-1008

Have you used NetApp tools like RCU, SMVI or the previous version of VSC? Would the ability to perform all these functions from one tool help you?
