I am also expecting a better to shutdown the sim safely, doing halt is not option if we want to issue shutdown to Linux machine.
How it exactly starts automatically as a service, I would like to see a shutdown script which does it same way.
One method i can think about now is issuing a RSH call to the sim ip to do shutdown. This needs RSH to be enabled for this Linux host. Would like to hear from others if there is a way to do this better.
when you start the NetApp Sim on an linux system, you the two processes running.
/bin/bash ./runsim.sh -g
The halt command should by entered at the NetApp Sim command line (FASxxx>) not at the linux.
Than the sim goes down an the processes will stopped.
But what I am interested to know is there any alternate way to do the shutdown of sim process other than the halt command .
Similar to Unix service start and shutdown. Because the sim start is registered as service in this case. We want stop also to be same.
