A bit about Chris.....
Chris started life as a new media developer in the late ’90s. He then put down his glow sticks and cargo pants and moved into sandals and systems administration. Finally he found himself settling in as a storage consultant at B2net. This background has given him a wide knowledge across many systems and solutions. He also has a keen eye for problem solving and troubleshooting and has a small arsenal of scripts to help in most everyday situations
Recently, Chris has been working with several major customers to help deploy full DR strategies completely embracing NetApp and VMware technology and has helped to design and deploy some of the largest NetApp infrastructures in the UK. Chris is currently working on some advanced storage system management and reporting tools with the API and Java™ programming. He is also designing a full DR platform, getting through the "cloud" buzz that is around, and creating close to seamless business continuance. In his spare moments he also decodes AutoSupports and works on improving an in-house support system for NetApp systems.
Away from Work
Chris enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Ellen, and his border collie, Indiana Bones, who are both very tolerant of servers on the dining table. (NetApp machines are also very tolerant of dog hair.) He has recently taken on a weekend project of restoring a 1964 Ford Zephyr mk3 into a street rod. Chris is also very passionate about music and spent three years touring with a rock 'n' roll band (The Klopeks). He still enjoys a very varied collection of music and tries to save a little time to pick up the guitar and annoy the neighbors.
