David Dale is the industry standards director at NetApp. In this role, he is responsible for identifying the industry standards activities that are important to NetApp and its customers, determining the appropriate participation level for NetApp, and representing NetApp in industry associations and at industry events.
With extensive experience in the computer industry, David is an extremely knowledgeable and valuable technology resource for customers, peers, and the media, as well as in relevant industry associations. Over the years, he has been at the forefront of new "disruptive technology" initiatives in company roles such as technology evangelist, strategic marketing analyst, and product launch specialist. Most recently, David was industry evangelist for NetApp SAN products. He has been involved in industry and standards activities for a number of years, and currently serves on the board of directors of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), where he is also chair of the Strategic Alliances Committee and chair of the Ethernet Storage Forum.
David received a bachelor of science degree in applied physics from the University of London.
