NetApp is consistently recognized by the Great Places to Work by FORTUNE magazine and other publications in countries and cities around the world. In 2012, NetApp ranked among the top-10 Great Places to Work in 20 locations around the world. In 2013, NetApp was #6 in The United States.

Creating an environment in which our employees and innovation thrive, contributes directly to our customers' and partners' success. Being a great company to work for makes us a great company to work with. Our customers and partners can feel the difference in the way we collaborate with them. At NetApp, inspired and happy employees make success happen for our customers and partners around the world. We share a vision to be a model company. That vision drives us to deliver the best possible results for the communities we serve by living a set of core values. We believe that being a model company means winning in the marketplace with integrity and honor. A great culture is the foundation for success—for employees, partners and especially our customers. It’s what makes our promise to help customers “go further, faster” a reality.

NetApp and St. Baldrick’s: a History of Giving - Worldwide, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. And in the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is focused on one thing, funding childhood cancer research. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has funded more than $103 million in new grants. Since 2000 they have had over 276,000 shavees! It’s humbling to go bald, but nothing in comparison to children facing a fight against cancer.

NetApp’s commitment to supporting the charitable work of its employees is surely a driving factor behind what makes NetApp a “Great Place to Work.” There are many charities that NetApp employees support, and much of the workforce takes advantage of Volunteer Days Off by giving time to various local organizations. Bill Hogan and Joey Santamorena hosted the inaugural NetApp/St. Baldrick’s event, dubbed “Bill and Joey’s Excellent Shaving Adventure,” in 2007. What has happened from there has been magical. In the years since, the generosity of NetApp employees, partners, customers, family, friends and over 1,200 shavees have raised over $3.5M across 56 shaving events worldwide. Customers have even joined forces with NetApp to grow awareness and support of children’s cancer research as detailed in this blog.

Tomorrow, March 7th, will be the first St. Baldrick’s event of the year, taking place in NYC. Details on the 7th edition of Bill and Joey’s Excellent Shaving Adventure can be found by clicking this link. That and the more than 20 other events around the world are listed here. Updates will be posted on Twitter by following @BHoganNYC. We welcome all personal St. Baldrick’s experiences. Please share them by tweeting, and be sure to include #NetAppStBaldricks.
