The nominations for Snapmanager  for SQL Server  codenamed "Heitz" early access program starting on June 18,2012 are open.


SQL Server 2012 introduces new integrated high availability and disaster recovery solution in SQL Server called "AlwaysOn". AlwaysOn provides both database level and instance level availability and enables businesses to achieve the required 9's for their mission critical application by introducing AlwaysOn Availability Group, a new feature that provides database availability in SQL Server. It enhances and combines database mirroring and log shipping capabilities to enable:


             Multi-database failover
             Multiple secondaries
             Application failover using virtual name
             Readable secondary
             Backup from secondary


The new features included in the SMSQL codenamed "Heitz" release are :


             SQL Server 2012 support
             Connecting to SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn
             Cluster Configuration Wizard with AlwaysOn
             Backup with AlwaysOn
             Restore with AlwaysOn
             Reseeding with AlwaysOn
             Clone with AlwaysOn
