We are very excited to announce the latest upgrades to our community platform. These enhancements are designed to improve your overall experience through stronger search capabilities, better navigation and more robust social media functionality. Also, there are a fixes to remedy performance issues. If you have questions or experience problems after the upgrade, please let us know. The NetApp Community team would love to hear how you like the new features too so send your feedback.
FEATURE DESCRIPTIONS
Social Bookmarking
Bookmark items from both inside and outside the community. Bookmarks are NetApp's take on social bookmarking, and they show up in a few different ways. First, you can bookmark all content types. When you bookmark an item, you add it to the list of your bookmarks (either public or personal) under Your Stuff for easy retrieval later. It also increments the count of people who have bookmarked that item. So you can easily see if content is popular based on the number of people who have bookmarked items.
Search Results Redesign
The search results page has been re-organized to make it faster to filter to just the information you need, whether it's content, people, places, or external sources linked via open search.
Profile Tooltips
The mini-profile displayed when hovering over a username now provides follow and unfollow actions.
Profile Updates
The workflow for adding a photo and avatar has been combined and offers a convenient cropping tool. You can also update your status message from your profile page.
Widgets
The new Places widget is a one-stop-shop for Spaces/Communities/Projects/Groups. Easily find the places in which you most often participate or search to discover new locations.
Contextual Type-ahead Search
Type-ahead search now offers the option to search specifically within your current space, project, or group. You can now also search only for content from a particular member when looking at their profile.
File Uploads
Uploading files has gotten even easier with the redesigned file upload form.
Performance
The use of sprites for icons and the refactoring of the search APIs are just a couple of the enhancements that will bring noticeable performance increases to the end user experience.

Glad to hear that you like the direction the community is going. We have made a few updates to the search with this update, what were you thinking about? Where do you see the search falling short.
The site just keeps on getting better. Next on my wish list would be improved searching if you are thinking what to do next.
