SMO Wizard

The SnapManager® for Oracle® (SMO) Wizard automates the process of assigning role based access control (RBAC) to users and creating SMO profiles integrated with Protection Manager.

The Userguide describes how to use the SMO Wizard to perform tasks like installing, uninstalling, configuring, downgrading, and upgrading the following products:

• SnapManager for Oracle

• SnapDrive® for Unix® (SDU)

• Host Utilities (HU)

• NetApp® storage systems configuration (via SSH)

• Operations Manager (DFM)

• Protection Manager (PM)

 

Instructions:

 

1) you can stop the script execution after the RBAC assigned to user, if you want to use this script for RBAC only. Suppose if you want to create the SMO profile with Protection Manager, please proceed further when prompted.

2) Keep the servers in the same network.

3) This is the installation of SMO, SDU, HU and DFM and Profile creation for SMO with Protection Manager functionality. Please use SMO for oracle backup, restore, clone and other functionality.

4) At present stage this tool created for LINUX platform only SMO,SDU,HU-LINUX,DFM-LINUX. Based on the feedback we will enable for other platforms.

5) Please read the Userguide before using the smo-wizard, especially first heading 1 to heading 4.

6) Execute the below scripts in the following order

    a. perl oracleconn_basic.pl - Checks Oracle connection

    b. oraenv.sh    - Before excute this shell script, Please Sets all Oracle variables in oraenv.sh then execute.

    c. perl prereqinstall.pl    - Installs the (Perl) prerequisites packages for SMO Wizard

 

 

Note: Make sure the above steps are executed properly, before start the below

     

    d. perl smo-wizard.pl    - Main program

 

Actions to take:

 

1. Once the script done, Please check the functionality using SMO.

2. Some time due to DFM error like no such role, no such group, no such user, Please cleanup the configuration manually or using cleanup option from the smo-wizard and try again after 5min.

 

Please read the SMO Wizard User's Guide before using this script. This version of SMO Wizard is only compatible with Linux OS platforms. NetApp offers no official support for this tool.
